Playing as my 37 paladin I just got ganked in Desolace. I was standing near the summer festival fire so I assume that's what they wanted, they being a skull-level BE hunter and mage. The hunter promptly spits on me before I release from my body. Not only does it waste my time from dying but I also have to run across the zone for my body. I play on a pvp server but...what's the point? They don't gain any honor, and it's not like I could have stopped them. I'm leveling in the middle of a zone that shouldn't have any 70's in it....is it really worth the 11g that you get from dousing the flame? Whatever happened to common courtesy? Not wasting other people's time? It just doesn't make any sense. Current Mood: confused |

2 Things First off, it's crap that you can get 5 smorcs or buns or pies for 5 blossoms, but only ONE sausage per 5 blossoms. :| Apparently it is "working as intended". Because defense and AP and healing don't make people OP, but 23 more dmg does. o.- What? Secondly, what the heck is wrong with my succubus? Any other pet, I can leave on passive, and when I send it to attack, it attacks. My succubus, though, has to be told twice or more every time. Even on defensive she doesn't do much unless I TELL her to attack. I spoke with another warlock friend, and apparently this was an intended change? Where's the logic in it? She's basically just useless :| Does anyone else know anything about this? Current Mood: annoyed |

Aldor vs. Scryer advice Hey everyone, I know this issue has come up many times, but I'm not going to ask you to tell me which one to choose; I will merely ask if you think I'm looking at the issue the right way. I did some research on my own on the rewards and SSO pendant procs for each faction. I am currently only 63 spec'd restokin, but the plan is either to go 16/0/45 ( http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0tbrzdZZxVcxcq0est) at 64 once I get lifebloom or at 70. I used http://www.wowwiki.com/Comparison_of_Aldor_and_Scryer_rewards http://www.wowwiki.com/Shattered_Sun_Pendant_of_Restoration and http://www.wowwiki.com/Enchantment/Shoulder for my comparisons. Hooray for wowwiki! At first glance, the scryer staff looks really good for a healer, but the Aldor shoulder enchant and SSO Aldor proc are a lot better. Some of the Aldor quest rewards also seem to be better for me as a resto druid. So as far as I can tell, Aldor does seem the better choice for me as a tree. So what do you all think? Is my reasoning sound? Or is there something I'm missing? Current Mood: pensive |

Add-on woes ArcHUD2 and AG_Unitframes were some of my favorite addons before I quit playing a year ago. Now that I'm back I decided to use them again. I tried to install them earlier this evening, but they just won't run. It's not that I have problems with making them display properly, it's that even though I told the game to enable them they don't show up at all even when I type in the commands for them. Bartender3 and Cycircled are running without a problem, but no matter what I try I can't get these two to work. It's like I haven't installed them at all.
Anyone else run into this problem or have any suggestions? |

Musings and ramblings So, as I hit the 80% point towards my epic flyer (and 40% towards SSO Exalted), the question comes to me - should I pillage my other main to get it? It would leave that character with about 100g, which feels low to me, but that character is also my druid, who won't have the same monetary issues that my paladin had with regular flight form. One thing this gets at is "How do I treat my characters?" As I think about it, I treat them all as closely affiliated guild members; helping each other level up, and passing on goodies that may be useful, but *not* as separate fingers of the same hand. In some sense I'm RP'ing the characters - but not to the point of having a history or anything of that nature; just that the different playstyles of all my characters means I need to get into a different mindset with them. And keeping them distinct helps me in that. So as I contemplate crossing the streams with a holday coming up, I also contemplate the issues of "real life" versus WoW life. Part of me is very anxious to head home after work and get my epic flyer, which will cut a lot of time in doing my dailies, and make doing regular quests in Outland easier as well, since I should build rep with other than SSO eventually. And, of course, I'm only about 2-3 game days from SSO Exalted, when my equipment will get *much* better. But the other part of me recognizes that "it's just a damn game" and that actual human interaction is also important. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this conflict, but because the holiday falls on a Friday, it's affecting my decision making a little more than it might otherwise. Anyway, welcome to my brain, a veritable Netherstorm of roiling and conflicting thoughts... Current Mood: contemplative |

Kalecgos I've decided I hate Kalecgos. I hate sunwell in general to be honest.
After three nights on him, whatever we are doing just isn't working. At All. No that's a lie. On monday we got him to 14% but the raid died. Last night was just horrible. I don't even think we got him under 40%. How is everyone dealing with healing? Our main problem being the tanks dying in the Dragon world. I'm not sure how to fix it. We are running 9 healers atm. I feel like maybe our rotations are off? We have a tank healer + group healer in every group. Groups are being topped off fairly well. People aren't missing portals often anymore. It's just the tanks. They keep dying. I think we had like 3 Pallys, 2 Druid and a Priest on them and they were STILL dying. Advice from any of you Pro's who have mastered this fight? The Black Arts Staff A few months ago I acquired Jane Yolen as a client. As some of you know Jane has written upwards of around 280+ books. There's also music, movies, poetry and more. This is a great honor for me as you can imagine but also strangely like a David and Goliath situation. Unlike David dealing with Goliath I ran away and got reinforcements. So now I have a staff of six people (maybe seven) and I would like to announce who they are: Curt owns his own company ( http://www.skytemple.com/) and does amazing work, especially with flash. I have him on staff for the high end flash websites and he is a pleasure to work with. Curt has worked on: http://writerlady.com/ , http://e-lockhart.com/ , http://blackholly.com/ Kate was the best Photoshop student I ever had and the first person I employed. She has a natural talent with Photoshop and is also a pretty decent writer. Kate has worked on: http://www.lspark.com/ , http://janeyolen.com/ Rachel has exceptional skills in photo retouching and is very knowledgeable in the works of most of my clients. Rachel has worked on: http://janeyolen.com/ , http://writerlady.com/ Panda does amazing work in Flash and Photoshop and I can easily find stuff for him to do for all my clients. Panda has worked on: http://janeyolen.com/ , http://writerlady.com/ Jessica has started two profitable businesses with her husband and is our office manager. She has done a lot to keep us all on top of things. Jessica has worked on: http://janeyolen.com/ Jason is also employed by Curt and Questionable Content ( http://questionablecontent.net/). He has done work for: http://www.steveberman.com/ and me. Current Mood: accomplished |

ZA requirements for a hunter, and a pet question I started running ZA last night I guess our guild is going to focus on this raid for a while. And I had some concerns about gear requirements and DPS from a hunter. So in your oppinion where should I be as far as dps goes before I enter this place. As far as my gear goes I have 2 t4 pieces, all kara epics, and the badge crossbow. MY dps ranges 1500-1800 buffed which I think is a little low.
I trained a scorpion last night out of SMV and when it hit loyalty lvl 1 and I went to train it I couldnt because it was showing -65 training points. I have tamed many beasts and this is the first time I have ever encountered this problem. Does anybody know why? I will note that this scorpion was tamed with poison rank 5 or 6 whichever he has when I got him. I thought maybe that had something to do with it, your thoughts? |

Paladin in PvP - BG focus Hey guys,
I wanna pick your brains on playing a Paladin in BGs. I've only ever played my Paladin as protection spec and PvE, at the moment she's pretty much just Kara, crafted, and badge geared but all focus on tanking, and really no Retribution or Holy gear to speak of.
Though, I've wanted to try and gear her up with BG gear, specifically the Ret stuff as I have no interest in healing, and no experience.
My main is a Warlock, so I am used to just running around causing large amounts of pain, but I am not too sure of how to really play a Paladin in BG. I tried respeccing to a Retribution spec one, but I can't recall what the spec was. I picked up some of the welfare PvP blues, and I had the Oathbreaker, but I didn't really seem to do much at all really. At least in AV in Protection spec I could just live forever, and tank the NPCs.
I don't really know too much about Retribution or Holy specs as I was never really into either spec tree, but I know that Retribution is very gear dependant.
So really, what's the best method of at least building up honor quickly for S2 gear? Do I just suffer through many deaths and no kills in Retribution with crap gear, or just go Protection and be unkillable, but without actually really achieving anything. A friend of mine told me to just heal through BGs, but I'd suck, and I doubt it would be that much fun.
Any ideas would be much appreciated. |

So my other half tells me to log onto my warlock so I can do a transmute for his jewelcrafting. I tell him to wait a minute. A few moments later he said, "wow! that was fast!" I ask him what he's talking about and he says he sees my imp there but he can't find me. Not knowing what he was talking about I finally turn around and low and behold, there's another toon there whose imp is the same name as mine. ( Proof! cut for size )You'll also probably notice that my name is the same as my imps. I had it changed a while back thinking it was funny. |

And as I just finished getting off my arse and uploading and relinking the images for myself I figured I could let everyone in on the goodness. upcoming warrior help? so... my sister just dinged 70. she's a prot warrior who enjoys what she does.. and aspires to become our tank, if not the main tank. we're working on kara atm. we are pugging our tanks.. but we would like to gear her so we can have our own reliable people. my question is, how do we get her geared? i'm a healer so it was a lot different for me.. but for a tank, i'm sure there is a different method of getting geared. (i just pretty much pugged everything until i had badges to get things) here's her armor so far: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ghostlands&n=Tierraverdeare there certain quests that drop things good for her? i know that we should get her in heroics asap, however i'm not sure she has enough defense to do this yet. any (CONSTRUCTIVE) help would be greatly appreciated. thank you ^^ Current Mood: contemplative |

Need tank advice Okay, am extremely put out but instead of ranting in dear_gnome, I'm going to try this first because I can always use some CC. I'm an arms warrior with quite a bit of points also invested in protection - when I hit 70 (I'm about four bars away from 67 right now) I'll probably go full prot but it's easier to lvl with arms for me. Still, I've tanked quite a few instances. I do my job... or so I thought. After this run, I'm so confused and afraid I am not doing something right. And if I think I don't know what I am doing, I refuse to tank (which is bad because I do enjoy it when my confidence is up). I'd tanked a couple of runs just hours before this happened, including one simply amazing run through MT, so I'm a bit confused about how it went from 'You're an amazing tank' to 'You completely suck' with this group. ( The sordid tale )Anyway I am always looking to better myself as a tank. Please let me know if there is ANYTHING I could have done wrong here or ANY suggestions you have. I know some PUGS are atrocious and after that little revelation I just had, I've realized that those two people are just idiots who think they know how holding threat works when they clearly don't. But I also know that I make plenty of mistakes too (I didn't remember about the dude summoning wolves since it's been a while since I've done Ramps and I bet I let the healer down on that) and want any suggestions you have about how I can be a better tank - I want to know anything I might have been doing wrong here. I'd love opinions from anyone, especially healers and other tanks in this case. ;) Thank you :) Current Mood: aggravated |

just a heads up My server hosts the images for the community layout(for the few of you that use it). I'm submitting a request to have it upgraded to server 2008. So during that time and until I find time to upload the images, they won't be available. Expect this sometime over the the next few days. I'm not sure exactly when they're going to do it. Aww...his first rant post. Our little Mooph is all growed up... So, my rogue Athanata has been my main since I began this game back in the November after release. I've either soloed or PUG my way the entire trek, so I've had a range of experiences from wonderful to tragic. It's par for the course. You're going to make some great people. You're going to meet some that make you cringe. I accept that not every run is going to go smoothly, but last night I experienced my worst PUG ever. Holy crap... So, it's the new week, the week we get titles. My boyfriend and I have a 2v2 team, as well as participating in a 3v3 team. The 3v3 team doesn't do nearly as well as the 2v2. At some point, we got to a peak of 1790 rating with the 2v2 team (MS Warrior/Holy Paladin) but it went down to something like 1758. So, today, when I log on, I notice this: ( SS or it didn't happen! ) |

Aussie guilds So,
I was wondering if anyone was in a Horde PVE Australian guild, and is currently looking for a Warlock, and his Hunter girlfriend, for T5+ content.
We're returning to Australia in a month, and may be looking to join an Aussie guild and get back into the game.
Website URLs would be great so I could check them out. Cheers in advance. |

I srsly doubt the veracity of be.imba.hu I swear its estimation of how ready you are for certain content is just based on the color of your items. I got a lucky drop of Lola's Eve, a purple caster ring, for my lock, which increased my spell damage by about five, and suddenly the site thinks I'm ready for heroics!
(Of course, the color theory doesn't hold water if you consider I was replacing a purple... from ZG. Item level, maybe?)
ETA: It also really doesn't like my [Gromtor's Bloodied Bandage], which is green, but in terms of spell dmg doesn't have many upgrades before Karazhan. |
